Dscoop South Africa takes huge first steps with two local events

Earlier this April, Dscoop and the South African print community took exciting first steps together in the country, as two inaugural events were hosted in partnership with Kemtek and South Africa’s local Dscoop chapter.

Participation rates shattered initial expectations as over 70 attendees came together to innovative print and enjoy inspiring speaker sessions in a comfortable, fun and collaborative atmosphere. Key topics for the program included an examination of market trends and a focus on collaborating for success.

Collaboration in the Rainbow Nation

South Africa is affectionately known as the “Rainbow Nation” due to the diversity of its wonderful people, climates and geography, and these vibrant features were all present across the two events and the incredible projects that were on display there.

The first event took place in Johannesburg at the Kemtek Centre of Excellence while the second was on the beautiful Nitida Wine Estate, found along the Cape Wine Route.

The speakers did an amazing job of energizing and inspiring attendees and really do deserve another huge thank you from the Dscoop community: Julian Marsh, Adam Curtis, Tamir Hativa and Hadar Peled Vaissman – thank you!

Sharing Unique Experiences

Attendees had the opportunity to share a unique moment what they enjoyed an exclusive look at the amazing new Amarula campaign. This positive project was executed alongside SA Litho who produced 400,000 unique labels to really make the message of “NAME THEM SAVE THEM” stick.

The campaign produced a sticker for each of the 400,000 remaining elephants in the world, in the hope that naming them will inspire communities to do more to save the gentle giants from extinction.

Sharing the Benefits of Dscoop

Partners, design agencies and publishers alike were all together to share their knowledge and experiences, and feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive and the attendees said that the event was useful in all aspects.

Wendy, Karen and the entire Kemtek team did an incredible job of organizing these events and ensuring that all attendees had a great introduction to Dscoop, and that those attendees will continue to contribute their knowledge and experiences as the South Africa chapter continues to blossom.
