This April Dscoop teamed up with Elite Digital, HP’s channel partner in East Africa, to deliver a series of inspiring and energetic local events in beautiful Kenya.
Jon Bailey, CEO of ProCo in the UK and a member of the Dscoop Board of Directors, worked closely alongside Zafir Kurji of Elite Digital to deliver this large-scale event that included stimulating site visits, seminars, workshops and 1-on-1 meetings.
This variety of sessions sounds exciting, right? Well, the attendees certainly agreed!
The sessions were defined by a vigour and energy that represented the innovative and collaborative spirit of the print industry in Kenya. Attendees received real added value as they collaborated, shared best practice and lead generation insights and ultimately increased their revenues through new partnerships and bonds.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the action as we give you the inside story on what happened.
Sessions to Drive Print Innovation…
The series of local events took on numerous shapes and sizes, demonstrating the power of community and flexibility.
Seminars and Networking Dinner
This two-hour Dscoop seminar attracted 75 attendees who enjoyed an entertaining networking dinner afterwards. The dinner was a great chance to unwind and to make important business connections that last.
Throughout a series of five site visits Jon Bailey and Zafir Kurji (Elite Digital) used this dedicated time to learn from local businesses. Understanding their challenges and talk about solutions and benefits of a digital business. Identifiying opportunities to keep print relevant.
Over 60 attendees attended vibrant workshop sessions that explored how to move from a price-led business to a value-added digital production house, and how Dscoop collaboration can be a key to that transition.
A series of 1-to-1 meetings gave business owners the time to discuss ideas to innovate in the digital print sector, increase profitability, migrate to digital, or to further expand their existing digital business.
…And Delighted an Audience
Feedback from the Kenya event was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees citing the energy and expertise as key reasons that the collaborative sessions were so enjoyable.
“It was very interesting to talk about the future of the industry without focusing on the tech.”
“It was interesting to learn how ProCo have built such a sophisticated business, it is like looking 10 years down the line.”
“Very well presented, very relevant and interactive seminar and workshop that was enjoyed very much.”
“Very useful tools provided by Jon Bailey. Learnt quite a few interesting ideas and need to see how best we can implement and make them relevant and work for our business.”
“Good to have a printer whom we can relate to, who has undergone the pains and practical lessons!”
Worth the 8hr journey for the fresh and interesting perspective. The future of print looks exciting.”
The Dscoop team would like to extend a huge thank you to Jon, Zafir and all the enthusiastic attendees that made this event so productive and useful for all involved!

Jon Bailey, CEO of Proco
Once a local traditional print company in Sheffield, ProCo has been transformed into a 140-strong, dual site marketing operations business which is recognised as one of the world’s most innovative print and direct mail production facilities.
“It was so exciting to be working with a group of people that are at the start of the digital transformation. The market in Kenya, like many other places in the world, is diverse, changing and challenging. The perfect storm for the brave to really start taking advantage of what digital print can offer. I was amazed with the amount of discussion, openness, questions and engagement in a country where companies are typically reluctant to talk to each other about what they are doing! I can’t wait to see the printers I met transform their businesses.”
