Workflow and color innovator CGS Publishing Technologies International will demonstrate two powerful new solutions for the packaging industry at WestPack 2012, Booth 5710 (across from the Arena Expo Café), at the Anaheim Convention Center, February 14-16. In addition to the debut of its new software, RealVue 3D Packager, CGS will also be exhibiting with technology partner Roland DGA (Booth 5189) featuring the versatile LEC and VS printer/cutter lines.
“CGS is a powerful ally for the packaging industry,” said Vicki Blake, CGS’ Director of Business Development. “With RealVue 3D Packager, ORIS color management, and our partnership with Roland, everyone in the packaging supply chain can lower costs and speed up their production process—without sacrificing quality. It’s a great combination.”
RealVue 3D Packager is a revolutionary approach to packaging visualization and design. Die line data can be easily imported from Adobe Illustrator or CAD files (DXF). Folding and fitting sequences are animated automatically, allowing the designer to visualize the finished package in a real-world simulation. Artwork from Adobe Illustrator can then be applied. Special effects, including gloss, metallic, holographic, embossing, and cut-outs can also be simulated with extreme accuracy. “RealVue 3D Packager is the only technology offering structural folding, animation, print effects and 3D annotation all in a single package,” Blake said.
Once the design is complete, virtual prototypes can easily be emailed to brand managers and other stakeholders, opened in Web browsers or viewed using the free player plug-in. Recipients can view the prototype at any angle, or view the animated folding scenario, for a highly accurate simulation of the finished product. Full annotation and approval tools, allow creative collaboration and provide significant time and cost savings during the entire design process.
At the Roland booth, the ORIS Color Tuner // Web system will be demonstrated on the revolutionary Roland Metallic and UV-LED inkjet printer/cutters. ORIS color management provides contract-quality color, including spot colors, using a patented process for calibration and control—without the need for costly manual “tweaking” of color values. In combination with ORIS, the Roland line is ideal proofing and prototyping solution for any kind of flexible or rigid packaging. The VersaUV line can print on a wide array of original substrates, while the VersaCamm line can produce metallic, white, and custom spot colors accurately, and at a fraction of the typical cost.
